About This Project

Jazzy

AGE 14

I’m Jazzy. I don’t have a story actually. My life was based on travelling around and not being able to stay in one country because I was in danger. Mummy never told me my life wasn’t safe, because I was so young. I was one when Daddy passed away.

The most important person in my life is Mummy. She looks after me. She makes sure that I’m happy and that I have everything I need.

When we came to Australia I started school halfway through Year 4. I was bullied all the way through to Year 6. When I started high school the bullying stopped, but I couldn’t tell anyone about it, not even my family members. At the end of Year 7, the teachers were mean to me and the students were rude and I started getting bullied again so I changed schools. On the first day everyone told me that I was pretty and cute and they loved me heaps. But the popular girls hated me for the first week, although then they apologised and asked if we could be friends.

Staying in a safe country like Australia is a pleasure.
